Job Summary
Job Summary
The Special Services Specialist serves as a primary resource and information consultant regarding canteen issues. The Special Services Specialist regularly uses a wide variety of skills such as decision making, problem solving, organization, maintaining confidentiality, adapting to change, and understanding of policies and procedures. The Special Services Specialist supervises client workers weekly in the processing and distribution of canteen items.
Additionally, the Special Services Specialist interacts with virtually all divisions/departments on the MSOP St. Peter campus and has regular contact with representatives of other Minnesota Sex Offender Program facilities, the Department of Human Services, the Attorney General's Office, county courts, various other community agencies, and the general public. This includes communicating clearly and concisely, using a variety of effective strategies to respond to customer needs in a professional manner, and working cooperatively with a diverse group of people to produce high quality results.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
To be further consider, you must meet the following qualifications listed below:
Customer Service skills sufficient to provide information to clients, including phone calls and walk-in contacts, in a helpful and courteous manner
Data Entry skills sufficient to create database records, update entries or create and apply the basics of spreadsheets to supply/retrieve information in databases
Valid MN Driver's License
Spreadsheet skills sufficient to develop and modify basic spreadsheets, and sort and extract data
Typing/Keyboarding skills sufficient to develop and modify basic spreadsheets, and sort and extract data
Word processing skills sufficient to develop and modify a variety of correspondence, records, and reports including tasks such as performing mail merges, developing forms, and creating charts

Copies of the college degree/diploma are acceptable ONLY if it clearly identifies the field in which it was earned.
